Mineralocorticoid biosynthesis (WP5279)

Mineralocorticoid synthesis and metabolism, which produce adrenal steroid hormones from cholesterol. These hormones regulate sodium retention in the kidneys and are therefore essential in sodium balance, intravascular volume, and blood pressure [PMID:8839934].
